It is with both pride and pleasure that I welcome all our guests, visitors, players and members to Tallaght Rugby Club. Last season saw the club reaching new levels of development from our ladies team reaching the Semi-Finals of the Leinster Shield to the great individual and team performances of our men’s in Leinster league division 3 and J5 . It was a great tribute to our squad and management, for all the very hard work put in during the season.
Our ambition this season is to develop a winning culture; we aspire to win every league we compete in this year, from our senior men’s to our senior ladies, our ethos is to compete and win all the while living our mission for inclusion and fun. To our Club Captain and our squad’s, our Director of Rugby, Brian Curtis, Coaches, Brian, Curtis, Brian Tyrrell, Phil Preston, Alan Barns, Mairead Hayden, our associate coaches and Referees as well as the Management Team, I extend my best wishes for another very successful Season ahead.
I want to also state our ambition to grow and develop our youth academy, under the leadership of Keith Mason as youth development officer. I am confident that with the support of our newly appointed mini’s co-coordinator Phil Preston and the entire coaching team, we will continue to grow and develop within our community.
I would like to offer special word of thanks to our all our sponsors, particularly the Old Mill Bar and Restaurant who have been a long held supporter of the club. This year, like every other year, we have exciting programs and projects which need funding and we always welcome sponsorship from companies who are aligned to our ethos and goals. If you feel that your company could partner with us, then let us know. email firstname.lastname@example.org
Finally I would like to thank all of those unsung heroes of the club who give of their time and services freely to our cause, be it, taking a shovel to a piece of dirt in order to lay piping for the new clubhouse or offering free legal advice. These acts of solidarity and commitment allow us to grow and develop.
As a club we are committed to developing Tallaght into a rugby powerhouse in the long term and developing hand in hand with our community. I wish everyone another successful season and a very warm welcome to Ballymana Lane.
Have a great and satisfying season everyone!
President, Tallaght R.F.C., 2013 – 2014
