Winners from the women’s team Ann Meenagh, Leone Eugene and Anne Kavanagh

The awards were held at the Plaza hotel on Saturday the 6th of May. First up were the women’s team and Ann Meenagh was given the award for try of the season for her superb effort against Longford. Then Anne Kavanagh was given the award for Most Improved Player for her consistent performances at scrum-half. Finally Leone Eugene from Belgium was named player of the year for her excellence in the front row in a sport she only took up a year ago.

Men’s Winners Ciaran Rudd, Karl Segrave and Jack Russell

Then it was the men’s turn and Karl “Moonbeam” Segrave was given the award for the try of the season for his superb, length of the field effort away to Blackrock. Then Ciaran Rudd was presented with the Most Improved player award for an excellent season where he excelled on the wing and at full back, scoring loads of tries and making many try-saving tackles. Finally the main player of the year award was presented to back row Bernard “Jack” Russell, who’s been a model of consistency and a force of nature on and off the pitch.

Club Person of the year Eugene Ryan with club President Ken Kinsella

The club person of the year award was presented to Facilities Manager Eugene Ryan. Eugene’s tireless dedication to helping the teams get set up for both training and matches is hugely appreciated by everyone at the club and he was given a standing ovation from the crowd. Finally thanks to all the staff and to Alan Bernes from the social committee for organising a great night in the Plaza.
