Leinster League Division 5
Claremont Road
Tallaght took on Lansdowne in Division 5 of the Women’s league in Claremont Road after Tymon Park was ruled as unplayable by the council for the 7th time this season.
As in the first meeting of the season, the Lansdowne team looked suspiciously good for this level and quickly raced into a big lead. Tallaght hit back with tries from Chloe Conroy Kearns and Louise Leonard Flood to make the halftime score 33-14. Lansdowne’s quick backs kept breaking away to end the game as a contest but Tallaght kept fighting and Louise Leonard Flood scored the final try of the match to make the final score 58-21.
Tallaght head coach Adam Nolan took positives from the performance. “Once we got our attacking game going, we showed we could hurt them. Our defence wasn’t good enough though but we’ll keep fighting. Chloe Conroy Kearns was the player of the match today. She scored a fine try but her defence was incredible.”
